Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of Taking Stock Foods, LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company (“Taking Stock” or “Company”).  The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to describe how Taking Stock collects, uses and shares information about you through our online interfaces (e.g., websites and mobile applications) owned and controlled by us, including www.takingstockfoods.com (collectively referred to herein as the “Site”).

Please note that your use of our Site is also subject to our Terms of Use.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to any information you may provide to us or that we may collect offline and/or through other means (for example, at a live event, via telephone, or through the mail).

Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do. If you do not understand any aspects of our Privacy Policy, please feel free to contact us as described at the end of this policy. By visiting and using the Site, you agree that your use of our Site, and any dispute over privacy, is governed by this Privacy Policy.

Information We May Collect

We may collect and store personal or other information that you voluntarily supply to us online while using the Site. Taking Stock obtains information from you via registration on the Site, signing up to receive our newsletter, and from online purchases. Information collected from Site users during online registration and/or sign up to receive our newsletter includes your name and e-mail address. Information collected from Site users making online purchases includes your name, email address, postal address, phone number, and credit card or other payment information.

We also use web analytics to collect information that is generated automatically as you navigate online through the Site. We use analytics to help analyze traffic on the Site and how users use the Site.

We also may use a standard feature found in browser software called a “cookie” to receive and store certain information when you interact with the Site using your computer or mobile device. A cookie is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website. When you visit the Site again, the cookie allows the Site to recognize your browser. By showing how and when visitors use the Site, cookies help us deliver advertisements, identify how many unique users visit us, and track user trends and patterns. They also prevent you from having to re-enter your preferences on certain areas of the Site where you may have entered preference information before. The Site also may use web beacons (single-pixel graphic files also known as “transparent GIFs”) to access cookies and to count users who visit the Site or open HTML-formatted email messages. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some Site features or services may not function properly without cookies.

How We Use Information

We collect information from you in order to provide products that you purchase using the Site; register and service your online account; provide information that you request from us; contact you about your orders; process credit card and debit card transactions; ship products to you; send you promotional materials or advertisements about our products, as well as new features and offerings; administer surveys and promotions; and provide interest-based targeted advertising to you.

We may provide your information to third party service providers that help us operate and manage our Site, advertise, market or promote our products, process orders, and fulfill and deliver products that you purchase from us. These service providers will have access to your personal information in order to provide these services, but when this occurs we implement reasonable contractual and technical protections to limit their use of that information to helping us provide the service.

We may use information about how you browse and shop in order to show you ads for Company or our advertising partners that are more relevant to your interests. We may use cookies and other information to provide relevant interest-based advertising to you. Interest-based ads are ads presented to you based on your browsing behavior in order to provide you with ads more tailored to your interests. These interest-based ads may be presented to you while you are browsing our site or third-party sites not owned by Company. Our Site may also contain links to third party sites that are not owned or controlled by Company. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our Site and to read the privacy statements of each website that collects your personal information.

Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily make your personal information available for viewing by third parties online — for example on message boards, web logs, through email, or in chat areas — that information can be seen, collected and used by others besides us. We cannot be responsible for any unauthorized third-party use of such information.

Taking Stock may disclose specific personal information about you if required by law, governmental request or court order, if based on our good faith belief that it is necessary to conform or comply with such law, request or court.

If the ownership of all or substantially all of our business changes or we otherwise transfer assets relating to our business or the Site to a third party, such as by merger, acquisition, bankruptcy proceeding or otherwise, we may transfer or sell your information to the new owner. In such a case, unless permitted otherwise by applicable law, your information would remain subject to the promises made in the applicable privacy policy unless you agree differently.

How We Protect Information

We maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards for all user information collected via our Site. Despite such efforts, please note that no company can fully eliminate risks or guarantee the security of personal information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of information about you at any time, and we bear no liability for uses or disclosures of personal information or other data arising in connection with theft of the information or other malicious actions.
